A Bit About Me
Hello, I'm Nathan Nguyen, a dedicated soccer player with a strong passion for Economics and Business. I fuse these interests to drive initiatives that empower underprivileged youth in the Philippines, helping to create opportunities and inspire positive change.
I am also one of the founders of SIPAG Bubuyog FC Academy, a non-profit initiative dedicated to empowering underserved youth in Metro Manila through football and education. This program is close to my heart as it provides young scholars with access to high-quality training, mentorship, and academic opportunities, creating a structured pathway from childhood to adulthood. Through partnerships with organizations like SIPAG Bubuyog and Philtech, we aim to secure scholarships, gear, and resources to support their holistic development both on and off the field.

Beyond my work with SIPAG Bubuyog, I am committed to giving back to the community through various volunteering initiatives. At SIPAG Bubuyog, I coach under-11 kids, teaching them football skills alongside lessons on teamwork and collaboration. Through ISM’s ICARE program, I have organized and led educational activities for underprivileged children, helping to improve their learning experience and foster a sense of hope and achievement.

Academically, I am passionate about Economics and Business, which inspired me to start a blog aimed at simplifying these subjects for young teens. I’ve also gained hands-on experience through an internship at Philtech, where I explored programming, cybersecurity, and business operations.

In addition to academics and social impact, I am an avid soccer player. I’ve represented ISM at IASAS tournaments and competed with Kaya Football Club in regional leagues, winning numerous accolades. These experiences have shaped my understanding of resilience, teamwork, and leadership, qualities I bring to every aspect of my life. My goal is to continue making a meaningful difference in my community while pursuing my passions in education, social work, and sports.

I joined an internship with Philtech, under the cybersecurity branch. In which there was a meeting once a week where I learnt about the importance of cybersecurity as well as learning to program. While learning about cybersecurity we learnt about how to protect important data and different ways data can be taken or leaked. Where I learnt about the fundamentals of cybersecurity including identifying and understanding different threat levels, protecting devices using antivirus software, basics on encrypting files, website identification (safe or unsafe), and practiced coding.
Interned at Philtech, specifically under the business/commerce dept. I got to learn about what they do, how they have grown and how a business works. With the focus on data management using sheets, market research and analysis, building collaboration in teams, real-world problem solving with past company problems, managing customer relations by tracking sales progress and consumer behaviors, and learning how to organize workers' wages
